Proof of my identity using the Belgian KopieID.be website

Below you can find a step-by-step guide on how you can use this website to prove your identity. This procedure may be subject to changes.

Surf to https://kopieid.be/en/ and click on “create copy”.

1. Choose the type of the ID card that looks similar to yours. Start with the front side. In most cases this will be sufficient to prove your identity.

2. Take a picture of your ID card (e.g. with you smartphone camera) and upload it by clicking “choose file”. Then click “next”.
   
   
    
3. Now use the sliders to line up your ID photograph with the red borders of the frame. Fitting this properly will allow you to hide certain information from your ID card in the next step. Then click “next”.
   
   
    
4. If desired, you can now hide specific information from your ID card that is irrelevant to the receiver. Check the boxes of the information you want to hide. Then click “next”.
   
   
    
5. Please add a text on top of your ID card, defining the purpose of your copy. Try to be as specific as possible, e.g. "Proof of identity to reset my password".
   
   
    
6. Click “download copy”. Use this file to send as your proof of identity.
   
   

Proof of my identity using the Dutch KopieID app

If you prefer using an app to prove your identity, we advise to use the KopieID app. The app is available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
