The European Neighbourhood Chair focuses on the EU’s multi-layered relations with its eastern and southern neighbours, as well as intra-neighbourhood dynamics, recognizing that the EU and its neighbourhoods are mutually constitutive.
Its work encompasses the many dimensions of the European Union’s Neighbourhood Policy, complemented by the study of political, socio-economic, and security-related developments in these regions through the lenses of Political Science, International Relations, Area Studies, and EU External Relations Law.
The Chair’s mission is to encourage reflection on EU and member states' foreign policies towards Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and the Middle East and North Africa, fostering greater understanding of these regions and the challenges they face at local, national, and regional levels.
