This course is designed for professionals who are already well acquainted with EU-funded projects and wish to further develop their skills by integrating AI into project design and select implementation-related processes. 

More specifically, the course is intended for: 

• National civil servants from EU member states and partner countries involved in EU-funded actions;
• Project and Programme Managers seeking to enhance their project design approaches through AI tools;
• Consultants and experts working on EU-funded projects;
• Administrative and Finance Officers involved in project planning, budgeting and reporting;
• Implementing partners of EU-funded projects;
• Representatives of NGOs, international organisations and development agencies;
• Universities, research centres and think tanks;
• Officials from EU institutions and related bodies;
• Other professionals and academics working on EU-funded projects who wish to explore the use of AI in this context.

Participation criteria 

This course is designed for professionals with prior experience in EU-funded projects, in line with the target profiles outlined above. 

Participants are expected to have: 

•  A university degree;
• A very good command of English;
• At least one year of professional experience related to EU-funded projects or other EU-related actions, including roles in management, implementation, coordination, support, or advisory functions;
• Previous training in EU project design and/or management (e.g. prior participation in an EU Project Management training).

The course builds on existing knowledge and focuses on how AI can support and enhance established project design and implementation practices. 

Please note that many examples and case studies used in this programme stem from the field of EU development cooperation and external action but can be applied across a wide range of sectors and contexts.
