Programme

Participants will take part in a three-day seminar on AI-supported EU project design and selected implementation-related processes, combining interactive sessions, practical exercises, case studies and discussions.

The course builds on established EU project design methodologies while introducing AI tools that can support key stages of the project cycle. It focuses on concepts and tools that can be applied across a wide range of funding systems and sectors.

More specifically, the programme includes:

Interactive training sessions:

  • AI-supported approaches to project design;
  • Policy analysis for project formulation;
  • Problem analysis, results chains, indicators and risk;
  • Stakeholder identification, characterisation, and behavioural patterns;
  • Stakeholder analysis and engagement strategies;
  • Activity design, planning, budgeting and cost estimation;
  • Implementation workflows, procurement and contracting aspects;
  • Monitoring, evaluation and AI-assisted reporting;
  • Design of project-related artefacts / GPTs;
  • Responsible use of AI, with human oversight and ethical considerations.

Case studies and practical exercises:

  • Analysing policy frameworks and structuring projects using AI tools and approaches;
  • Designing activities, timelines and budgets;
  • Exploring implementation, monitoring and reporting practices;
  • Applying tools and techniques through guided exercises and feedback sessions, and introductory work on project-related artefacts/GPTs.

Participants are required to bring their own laptops, as the course includes hands-on exercises using selected AI tools and/or online platforms relevant to EU project design and implementation-related tasks, including prompt-based work; the specific tools used may vary depending on availability and the pedagogical needs of the group.

During the exercises, participants will work with sample or non-sensitive materials. The course also addresses good practices in the responsible use of AI, including verification, confidentiality and human oversight.
