Statement by the College of Europe

During the protests in Tirana on the evening of 14 October, the College of Europe’s Representation Office in the city centre was damaged by fire. The office was empty at the time, and no one was hurt.

All our students and staff are safe. The fire affected only the Representation Office. Our teaching facilities, student residence and other administrative offices were not affected, and the College’s operations in Tirana continue as normal. The academic programme and other activities go ahead as scheduled.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our first priority. Our team in Tirana is following the situation closely, also in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Fully committed to its campus in Tirana and to its independent academic mission, the College of Europe will continue to contribute to European education and dialogue in the Western Balkans.
