Visit of Ms Kata Tüttő, President of the European Committee of the Regions, to the College of Europe Bruges campus

On Tuesday, 3 November 2026, the College of Europe had the pleasure of welcoming Ms Kata TÜTTŐ, President of the European Committee of the Regions, to its Bruges campus for an exchange with students on the future of the European Union budget, cohesion policy and European competitiveness.

The discussion focused in particular on the role of cohesion policy in supporting growth, connectivity and opportunity across Europe’s regions, as well as on the place of regional investment within the Union’s broader economic priorities.

President Tüttő also introduced students to the work of the European Committee of the Regions and reflected on the importance of taking local and regional perspectives into account when European priorities are translated into concrete policies.

The exchange offered the students of the Johannes Gutenberg Promotion a valuable opportunity to explore the relationship between European policymaking and its implementation across regions and territories.

The College of Europe warmly thanks President Tüttő for her visit and for the engaging discussion with our students and wider community.
